Born to father Delos Harley Yancey, Jr. and mother Joanne Yancey, Delos H Yancey is one of three children. He is also a husband and father as well as a regular in the community circle of events. His father also worked at State Mutual Insurance while his mother was not only extremely active within the Rome, Georgia community but also a business woman herself who co-owned The Grey Goose gift shop and was the founder and owner of The White Rabbit, a specialty gift store located on Board Street.
An insurance life
Currently, Delos H. Yancey serves as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of State Mutual Insurance Company. This company prides itself on offering Medicare Supplement Insurance plans to those seeking a private party insurance policy to help pay for expenses not covered by Original Medicare. In addition, the company also supplies other types of insurance, though the supplement plans are their primary product.
He has also served as a member of the Board of Governors at Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Currently he is a board member on the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Northwest Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America, the United Community Bank of Rome and the Georgia Association of Life Companies.
During his time with State Mutual Insurance, the company has made the commitment to offer insurance products and polices to the senior market and has done very well in doing so. Selling both life insurance and Medicare Supplement products, the company has since had over 100,000 Medicare Supplement policyholders.
